Get Ready for an Exciting New Season with the Dees!
Happy New Year to all our wonderful Dees Family members!
It feels like just yesterday that we were wrapping up the previous season, and here we are again, gearing up for another thrilling season of Junior AFL.
While we’re not quite back to our regular weekly communications just yet, we’ve got plenty of important information to share with you all. So, buckle up for a bit of an information overload as we dive into what’s in store for 2024!
A Change in Terminology
First things first, let’s address a small change: AFL Queensland now refers to Footy 4 Fun as “Junior” football. This encompasses age groups U8-U11, while “Youth” refers to ages 13 and over.
2024 Preparation and Enrollment
Registrations are now open for Junior enrollment! These fees cover your registration with both AFL Queensland and the Surfers Paradise AFC, including your junior’s uniform for the 2024 season.
Pre-Season Training
It’s time to dust off those boots and get ready for pre-season training! Join the appropriate Facebook groups for your age group, as pre-season activities are already underway for Youth football (ages 13 and over). If you’re not on Facebook, don’t worry! Coach information will be communicated via email shortly.

While we haven’t set an official start date for the season yet, there will be Board and Committee meetings in the coming weeks to finalize these dates. Keep an eye out for the following:
– Come and Try days for boys and girls
– Uniform Collection/Meet the Coach event
– Official season start date
– Team bonding activities
