Welcome back Chanel Fletcher, aka ”Fletch” who returns as the Co-Coach for our U17 Girls along with Coach Scott Nieass, bringing a wealth of experience and a dedicated commitment to advancing female football at Surfers Paradise Dees.

Dees Devotee Since 2018
Fletch’s journey with the Dees began in 2018, both as a player and, eventually, as a coach. Her impact has been significant, particularly since 2019 when she embarked on coaching, starting with the U13 girls. Over the years, she has seamlessly followed the age group’s progression, achieving remarkable success at each level.

Championing Success: Premiership Glory in 2021
In 2021, Fletch stepped up to coach the U15s, leading the team to a Premiership victory—a testament to her strategic acumen and dedication. Last year marked another milestone as she spearheaded the U17s, revitalising the age group and marking the return of U17 girls’ football after a significant hiatus.

Advocate for Females in Footy
She is not just a coach; she’s a passionate advocate for females in footy. Her pivotal role in developing the girls’ program earned her well-deserved recognition in 2021, clinching both the Junior and Senior Club Person of the Year awards.

New Horizons: U18 Suns Academy Assistant Coach
In 2024, Fletch takes on a new challenge, along with her commitment to the Dees as the U18 Suns Academy Assistant Coach, a testament to her expertise and influence in the coaching realm. Her commitment to fostering relationships between the youth and women’s teams, both as a coach and player, exemplifies her dedication to Surfers Paradise Dees.
