With an impressive coaching background spanning various levels and leagues, Terry brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success.

Terry’s coaching journey began in 2001 as the Playing Coach for Mooroopna 2nds in the Goulburn Valley Football League. Since then, he has showcased his coaching prowess in diverse roles, including Senior Assistant Playing Coach at Murchison in 2002, coaching Mooroopna’s Under 12’s in 2003, and achieving notable success as the Under 16 boys Div 1 Coach in 2005, leading the team to become Premiers and Champions.

From 2007 to 2010, Terry took on the role of Undera Senior Coach, achieving impressive results and earning recognition as the Senior KDFL Coach of the Year in 2010. His coaching accolades continued as he became the Assistant Coach of Mooroopna Seniors in 2011, contributing to the team’s 2nd-place finish.

Terry’s coaching journey extends beyond local leagues, including coaching the Philippines National AFL Team from 2016 to 2017. Under his guidance, the team achieved significant milestones, winning the Manila Cup in 2016 and securing the country’s first-ever Asia Championships that same year in Vietnam. In 2017, they were runners-up in the Asia Championships.

In 2019, Terry demonstrated his coaching versatility by leading the Mooroopna Senior Women’s team to victory in the Goulburn Valley Football League, clinching the senior premiership after overcoming initial challenges.

Notably, Terry’s playing career also resumed in 2017, representing GV Giants Masters and playing a key role in the Vic Country Over 50’s Premiership Team at the National Championships.

With 155 games coached and an impressive 105 wins to his name, Terry Mahoney brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and a passion for developing young talent to his new role as the U17 Boys Coach. We are thrilled to welcome him to our team, and we look forward to achieving great success together under his guidance.
